Get started! This is what you will do
As Engineering Manager Data Platform & Governance, you lead all central data platform teams within Jumbo. You are responsible for building and evolving a scalable, future-proof data platform that serves as the foundation for reliable data, strong governance and future AI implementations.

You lead multiple DevOps teams and combine people management with strategic responsibility for the data landscape. You work closely with Data Science, contribute to Jumbo’s IT data strategy and guide the transformation towards a modern, domain-driven data organization.

Your key responsibilities:

• Lead 4 DevOps teams (Ingestion, Platform, Publication and BW) with full responsibility for HR, delivery, budget and team development.
• Build and evolve a scalable, modern data platform as the foundation for analytics, reporting and AI.
• Contribute to and help shape Jumbo’s IT data strategy.
• Guide the transition from central data teams to domain-based data teams across the organization.
• Establish data governance at domain level with a strong focus on automation and data quality.
• Develop modern technologies that support governance, lineage, ownership and data quality.
• Collaborate with Data Science on AI applications and data-driven innovation.
• Lead the Power BI migration and further modernization of the BI landscape.
• Take responsibility for budgeting and the deployment of internal and external capacity.

You divide your time approximately equally between people management and the strategic development of the data platform and data organization.

• Experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead or in a similar role within data and platform environments.

• Experience in line management and team development.

• Experience with data governance, data quality and data ownership models.

• Strong knowledge of modern data architectures and cloud-native platforms.

• Experience with data mesh and domain-driven data organizations.

• Ability to lead and guide transformations within complex organizations.

• Strong stakeholder management skills across multiple levels.

• You are responsible for designing and continuously evolving a scalable, cloud-native data platform and for leading multiple DevOps teams across ingestion, platform, publication and BI.

• We aim to build a domain-driven data organization with automated governance, high data quality and a robust foundation for AI.

• You lead the central data platform teams and guide the transformation towards domain-based data teams across the organization.

• You work closely with Data Science, architecture, other IT teams and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end data products.
