Get started! This is what you’ll do
As a Data Solutions Engineer, you manage the flow of structured and unstructured data from various sources in Azure. You’ll work on a centralized cloud data platform (Data Core) that is developed and used across the entire Jumbo organization to create business value through actionable insights.

We strengthen the relationship between IT and business teams and continuously strive to improve the data landscape at Jumbo, every single day. No day is ever the same, but your work will include:

• Designing and implementing data platform architecture within our central Publishing Team, ensuring company-wide adoption of Databricks and Unity Catalog.
• Collaborating with our Data Governance department to implement governance in Databricks using best practices and quality metrics. You’ll also provide insight into costs and proactively advise on cost optimization.
• Ensuring that our data platform performs at a high level, is automated, and monitored in line with Data Governance standards and the DevOps approach.
• Keeping up with the latest technological developments, experimenting with new tools, and assessing where they can add value for our Data Community.
• Acting as a bridge to other teams and actively participating in the Data Guild.
• Living our “You build it, You own it, You run it” mindset: making a direct impact on our Data Community and taking full ownership of your product.
• Contributing to our new data landscape, where domain teams deliver data in the right way to our data analysts and consultants.

As a Solutions Engineer within the Publishing Team, you’ll play an important role in developing a future-proof and robust data landscape at Jumbo. You’ll empower business teams to apply self-service analytics, provide cost management insights, and support our Data Community in Databricks and Unity Catalog.

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Experience building robust and stable data platforms in Azure, specifically with Databricks (certification is a plus).
• Experience with Databricks, Unity Catalog, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and PySpark.
• Curiosity about the latest technological developments.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills.

• As a Data Solutions Engineer in the Publishing Team, you design and implement data platform configurations. You ensure governance, cost optimization, automation, and monitoring of Databricks and Unity Catalog in line with DevOps standards.
• By building a robust data platform and optimizing costs, you help Jumbo work smarter. This enables self-service analytics and data-driven decision-making, which indirectly improves the customer experience.
• You work within the Publishing Team as part of Jumbo’s Data Community. Together, you create a future-proof data landscape and support business teams with Databricks, Unity Catalog, and best practices for governance and automation.
• You collaborate with Data Governance, business stakeholders, and other data teams. Together, you drive the adoption of new technologies, ensure compliance, and continuously improve Jumbo’s central data platform.
